Adding Translation Memory Sequences

A Translation Memory (TM) sequence enables prioritizing leverage of multiple TMs for matching locales.

To add a translation memory sequence:

  1. Open the Project Director Administration dashboard and click Translation Memory folder.

    The Translation Memory page appears.

  2. Click the Translation Memory Sequences tab.

The Translation Memory Sequences options appear.

  3. Click Add TM Sequence.

The Filter TMs by Language Pair dialog box appears.

  4. Select the language pairs that will be sequenced.
      Note:

You can sequence TMs with the same language and country code (or no country code), e.g., en-US and en TMs can be sequenced but it would not be possible to create a sequence with an en-US and en-GB TM.

  5. Click OK.

The TM Sequences dialog box appears.

  6. Enter a sequence name.
  7. Click to filter the TMs.

    The filter options appear.

      Note:

A sequence must have at least two TMs.

  11. Enter the Secondary TM Penalty to penalize all matches from the secondary TM. For example, if the penalty is entered as 1, then all 100 % matches in the secondary TM will appear as 99% matches.
  12. Click to choose one of the TMs as the primary TM, which must be leveraged first.
  13. Click or to prioritize the TMs.
      Note:

Prioritizing TMs will ensure that the first TM in the list is leveraged first, followed by the remaining TMs.

  14. Select a TM and click to lock the primary TM match bands.

The Lock Bands dialog box appears.

      Note:

When you lock bands for a primary TM, they will not be replaced with any match from the secondary TM, even if the match from the secondary TM is higher.

  15. Click OK.
  16. Click Save.

The new TM Sequence appears in the Translation Memory Sequences page.
