Configuring InDesign File Format

The following set up instructions applies to all three InDesign options: InDesign IDML, InDesign INX, InDesign Native and ICML. In Design Native requires an additional configuration, which is explained below. IDML version 1 and 3 filters are available.

To configure InDesign file format:

  1. Follow steps 1-3 in the Adding and Editing File Formats section above.
  2. Click .

    The Configure File Format dialog box appears.

  3. Enter a unique name for the InDesign file format.
  4. Select the Default checkbox to mark the file format as the default selection. This will enable quick selection of file formats while adding submissions.
  5. Select Create New to create a new InDesign file format from a pre-installed file format. Select the pre-installed InDesign file format option from the drop down list.

    The Configure option will be activated.

  6. Click Configure.

    The Configure File Format - Font Mapping File dialog box appears. The configuration required for INX is as below.

    The configuration required for IDML is as below.

  7. For INX, click to browse and select the Font Mapping and Document Configuration files.
  8. For IDML, enable checkbox to Translate Line Break as Tag if required.
  9. Click OK.

    The new InDesign file format appears in the Project - File Formats tab. This file format can be further edited by clicking on .
