The notifications appear in the Notification Center bubble on the top right hand corner of the dashboard.
Depending on the Bubbles configured in the Preferences the Notification Center will display notification bubbles of various types:

Requiring immediate attention |

Orange |
Errors |
|
Purple |
User action required, for example, a quote is ready to be reviewed |
|
Blue |
Progress information, for instance a submission or parts of a submission have progressed to the next phase of the workflow |
