Selecting Text Tools Options

It is possible to configure the Text Tools (options for the text editor).

Enabling Auto-Suggest

To enable Auto-Suggest:

Auto-Suggest option populates suggestions based on source content, such as numbers, URLs and proper names. It can also suggest terms for the glossary, Translation Memory (TM) matches, and Subsegment TM matches.

  1. Click the Preferences tab
    OR
    Press F9.

     
  2. Click Text Tools.
    The options for the text editor appear.
  3. Select the Enable Auto-Suggest checkbox to clear it. If the checkbox is cleared, it will not be possible to select Source, Terminology, TM, or TM Sub-Segment.

    Source

    Enable suggestions for sources of the segment: numbers and capitalized words only.

    Terminology

    Enable suggestions for terms from the glossary.

    TM

    Enable suggestions for translations from the TM.

    TM Sub-Segment

    Enable suggestions for parts of segments from the TM. For example, if the following segment was in the TM:

    Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water.

    A sub-segment would be Up the hill.

    A segment can contain more than one sub-segment.

    Terms in a sub-segment must be consecutive.

 

Smart Quotes

The Smart Quote option automatically changes the quotation marks used when the user presses the quotation mark keys on the keyboard, depending on the target language.

To enable Smart Quotes:

  1. Select Smart Quote checkbox to enable smart quotes (quotation marks). Depending on the target language, the application will automatically change the quotation marks used when the user presses the quotation mark keys on the keyboard. it.

  2. Click OK.
