Selecting Transcheck Options

Transcheck verifies certain elements in the target segments and warns you about missing or incorrect text or variables. For example, if you do not insert a tag or type incorrect text, a warning signal will appear before the target segment. You will be able to view the warning when you point to the text with the mouse.

To enable Transcheck:

  1. Click the Preferences tab
    OR
    Press F9.

     

  2. Click Transcheck.
    The Transcheck options appear.

  3. Select Transcheck during translation checkbox to clear it, if you want Transcheck to be disabled while working on the translation.

  4. To check for specific errors in the target segments, select the different Configuration options.
    The options available are:

    Blacklist Check

    Check if the target segment includes blacklisted terms.

    Note: The blacklisted term list must be a tab-delimited file. This check is available depending on TMGR configuration for the project.

    Capitalization Check

    Check differences in capitalization. To configure this option, go to Configuring Capitalization Check.

    Edited Exact Match Check

    Check if exact matches from the TM were edited. To configure this option, go to Configuring Edited Exact Match Check.

    Edited Source Check

    Check if segments in the source were edited.

    Empty Target Check

    Check for empty target segments.

    Forbidden Characters Check

    Check if the target segment includes forbidden characters. To configure this option, go to Configuring Forbidden Characters Check.

    Number Difference Check

    Check if the numerals in the source segment match the target segment. To configure this option, go to Configuring Number Difference Check.

    Punctuation Check

    Check for consistency in punctuation between source and target segments. To configure this option, go to Configuring Punctuation Check.

    Repeated Word Check

    Check for repeated words in the translation.

    Segment Length Check

    Check if the translation complies with preset limits on characters and words. To configure this option, go to Configuring Segment Length Check.

    Copied Source Check

    Check for copied source text in the target.

    Spelling Check

    Run spell check as the translation is entered.

    Note: The translator must still download a preview the file,and  run spell check on the final translation. For more information, go to Previewing a File.

    Tag Check

    Check for missing tags in the target segments. To configure this option, go to Configuring Tag Check.

    Terminology Check

    Check if the terms in the source segment are translated correctly based on the glossary.

    Unedited Fuzzy Check

    if fuzzy matches were not edited.

    Untranslatable Text Check

    Check if the untranslatable content in source and target segments is consistent. To configure this option, go to Configure Untranslatable Check.

    Untranslated Text Check

    Check if any segments are not translated; for example, if Copy Source was used.

    Whitespace Check

    Check double whitespace in the translation. To configure this option, go to Configuring Whitespace Check.
